1 Corinthians 15:31
Have you ever said or done something you regret? I have.
Recently, I wrote a comment about another manager — questioning his ability to lead. It was careless, unkind, and regrettable. Whether it was true or not doesn’t matter.
True to how the Lord deals with His children, the matter came back to me the very next day — not to shame me, but to correct me.
Unbeknown to me, the private conversation I thought I was having was being tracked and logged. That raises privacy concerns, yes — but it doesn’t erase what I said.
As a believer in Christ, I felt the weight of the Holy Spirit pressing heavily on my heart. Jesus said, “Love one another as I have loved you.” I failed to do this.
I wrote an apology to the affected manager. I apologised to my own manager for drawing him into the situation. And I confessed to the Lord, knowing I had let down not only others — but my Saviour, Jesus Christ.
What I Learned
In 1 Corinthians 15, Paul says:
“I die daily.” — 1 Corinthians 15:31
He faced his pride, his emotions, his flesh — and subjected them to death through Christ. Only then could those thoughts and attitudes be buried and cleansed, ready for resurrection power.
Whatever we speak, do, or think must be buried in the name of Jesus — so that it may rise again purified.
“It is sown in dishonour, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in strength.” — 1 Corinthians 15:43
I have sown dishonour with my words. But I have asked forgiveness — from the Lord and from those affected. And I pray, according to His grace and mercy, that He will use this for good and raise it in strength. 🙏♥️
A Call to Holiness
“But as He which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation.” — 1 Peter 1:15
Be holy in all communication. Be careful with every word. Be quick to repent when you fall short. And remember — dying to self is not a one‑time event. It’s a daily surrender.
Reflection
Have you spoken words that need to be buried in Christ today? Have you allowed pride or frustration to speak louder than love? Ask Him to help you die to self — so that His life may rise within you.
