Is the eclipse a sign from God for us to understand?

We live in increasingly testing times.

As this American eclipse business (April 8 2024) nears and grows believers are going to be tested. Have you noticed that our faith has been tested recently? That we have been shaken? Tested as a body. Big tests have been sent. Covid, Ukraine, Israel. With each of these God proved certain things within us. Each test asked specific questions of us.

With Covid we were presented with the question who will your trust be in for your wellbeing and safety? And what is the condition of our ears for listening?

With the Ukraine conflict the Western governments have been exposed for their wickedness. The West has sacrificed a country in their quest of power. Putin the one our Nations have told us is the enemy for so long has called out the perversion of our so called Christian societies. The nature of the system has been exposed so that we His children might see it clearly and a choice is presented …. It is time to flee from Egypt in our hearts. To leave the place of slavery.

The situation in Israel has asked if we know His Word rightly. And His purpose in the Earth. Sides are being drawn and our loyalty questioned … in sickness and in health. This is a great shaking, the whole Earth turns.

I would add this Eclipse to that list especially for America. It was not that long ago that there was much talk of blood moons. Is it fair to say that those who got caught up in blood moons (wondering if they held a message for us?) are the same that are getting caught up now? What do you think?   

Like never before believe God. Seek Wisdom ……. Matt 7. 7Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8for every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

Now however we have a much bigger test. The blood moons were a smaller test to nudge you along a certain path.   The eclipse has much greater exposure. Much larger ramifications. This test will solidify a choice in many people and in a strong way. From here many will look more to the heavens for guidance. Something God strictly forbids in His Word.

You should be aware that all the tests are based on believing and obeying what God has told us in His Word.

You see the test is and always has been … Who do you listen to and believe and what will you practice?

The Hebrews had seen and lived amongst the worship of different Gods and were called away from such practices of living and discerning.

Deut 10. 14Now therefore fear Jehovah, and serve him in sincerity and in truth; and put away the gods which your fathers served beyond the River, and in Egypt; and serve ye Jehovah. 15And if it seem evil unto you to serve Jehovah, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve Jehovah. 16And the people answered and said, Far be it from us that we should forsake Jehovah, to serve other gods; 17for Jehovah our God, he it is that brought us and our fathers up out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage,

It seems to me that nothing changes. What has been comes back again. We are still called to choose Gods way or not.

This business of reading messages in the movements of the moon touches on ancient pagan practices of interpreting various omens as opposed to trusting God …

Deut 18.10 There shall not be found among you anyone who burns his son or his daughter as an offering, anyone who practices divination or tells fortunes or interprets omens, or a sorcerer ESV

It is basic Astrology -

Isa 47. 13You are wearied by your many counselors; let them come forward now and save you— your astrologers who observe the stars, who monthly predict your fate.

Jer 8. 2They will be exposed to the sun and moon, and to all the host of heaven which they have loved, served, followed, consulted, and worshiped. Their bones will not be gathered up or buried, but will become like dung lying on the ground.

Many unbelievers have heard and also the governments have taken notice. They are watching us and they are planning. Have you noticed the increase of government activity around this eclipse?

Ultimately it is God who tests us. Make no mistake it is a test of our faith. How will we fare?  To what extent is our faith in the Word? What happens to our feet when we shake? What is our discernment like? What is our current direction in these matters? Like with all tests there is a sorting. We are sorted by the Lord.    So here I think is the pertinent question ……. In this test, what are you learning about heavenly signs? Does God call us to such practice in His Word? Or not? Is His word a lamp to our feet in this matter?  Only in the light of His Word we can see whether the path is good or not.

Had this Ship crashed into the bridge on the day of the eclipse some Christians would have literally been jumping with joy exclaiming see, see I told you. The great one speaks and I interpret! My spirit hears, my discernment is true. But you have moved from Gods Word. The knowledge, wisdom and understanding gained is not of Him. The spirit is not His Spirit. Welcome to great deception. Welcome to superstition. You can be certain that things will definitely happen in proximity to this eclipse and to various degrees men will say see, I told you. Then they will watch for the next guidance from the heavens with mouths open. Now here is a terrible thing, as they have sought sources not of God, they will be given over to continue. They will move away from the Word of God and the God of the Word. They now seek outside His Word. They consult omens. Consider.

Do you see the great opportunity for someone to manipulate this situation? How might other actors get in on the commotion? How might the enemy seemingly use this to his advantage? Would someone deliberately make something happen around this eclipse? Why would someone do something like this?… I will tell you why. To make you sin. To make you leave the guidance of Gods Words and look to food they can manipulate in the future. To weaken you and control you and take you from the battle. Both men and powers desire this for we are in a spiritual war.

In God’s Word we have been given extremely important warnings about false prophets and false teachers and false doctrines. How seriously do we take these incredibly severe warnings? Do we know what a false teacher looks like? What about a false prophet or a false doctrine? Are there lots of them? Have we experienced them? Are these warnings in Scripture for us? Can we help each other avoid them? Or do we find such scripture just a little bit controversial for our taste? Do the warnings call us to make judgements we are uncomfortable with perhaps because they show our lack of understanding of His word? Instead of judging like we are told to do we take Scripture out of context and yell …”do not judge!” Or cry out … “this causes disunity” Do we prefer simply to rely on others? But what if they are uncertain also? As we examine ourselves, if we see that we are moving towards things we do not understand, will we repent (change our minds) and run back to the Word of God. Our certain refuge.

If false prophets and teachers and doctrine are around today, do we want to know who and what they are?  How might this eclipse be associated with false teaching or prophecy? Make no doubt there are plenty of people who will point to scriptures here or there in order to try to influence you to consider God is trying to give us a message. And the flesh loves such sensational thoughts and ear tickling. But every one of those Scriptures will be out of context. And the clear teaching of God’s Word not to rely in any way on such practices will be ignored. Hence they will be both adding to and taking away from Gods Word! Be brave and courageous and challenge these teachings. Be noble like the Bereans, examine against the light of Scripture (Acts 17.11) Err with caution towards Gods Word faithfully. Lean in to Him. Ask Him for Help. …

Were we to discern a false prophet or false teacher … what should we do? What if you suspect someone you follow is mixed up with falsehood? What if a friend is deceived? What I can tell you with absolute certainty is that all these questions are answered clearly in scripture. God has warned us and told us what to do to protect ourselves and others. Are we listening to Him?

Once again I find myself presenting questions that I know are going to make some people uncomfortable. But does that mean they should not be asked? Could it be our discomfort is because there is Someone else who is at work here bringing conviction?  I believe strongly that because God loves us He afflicts the comfortable and comforts the afflicted. He wants us to keep moving closer and becoming more blessable. Rev 3.18 … and salve to anoint your eyes so that you may see. 19Those I love, I rebuke and discipline. Therefore be earnest and repent.

I saw today on my phone a few days ago a today a suggested feed. These are placed to  to get our attention. It was an opportunistic headline to ride on the eclipse sensationalism and draw me in.

Headlines shout something as if it is extremely significant. In this case it said something like this …

BLOOD MOON !!! on the day US votes against Israel in the UN !!!!!!! I had a look because I was writing this communication. As it turned out the colored moon was in Turkey! I hope you can see how once we open ourselves to false messaging any straws can be drawn to anything. I say again ....... this unhealthy sensationalism growing in a fascinating way. It is significant.

Some claim they have knowledge in such things, they draw men to themselves and they have no end of listeners.

Now Israel worked on a lunar calendar indeed. And the feasts of Israel are prophetic indeed according to what is revealed in Scripture. Of course these Times/Seasons that are revealed in Scripture relate directly to Israel. Of course we also know that the rest of the world is both Blessed and Cursed in accordance with how we relate to Israel.

We know this because God is a God who reveals. He has clearly revealed this in His Holy Word.

So what is a Heavenly Sign?

Before suggesting that a sign is from God for us to understand, we must first understand what a Heavenly Sign is. There are plenty of them in the Scripture. When I say heavenly sign I mean signs that incorporate the heavenly bodies. They are recorded for us in the past and foretold as coming in the future. They are not unclear in their nature nor are they unclear in their association with what is happening on Earth. So one element of Biblical Heavenly Signs is that they are CLEAR and SPECIFIC. Another element of Biblical Heavenly Signs is that they are SUPERNATURAL. They are not common. While these defining factors of Heavenly Signs may not be equally evident for those who believe Gods Word as opposed to those who don’t, it can be clear to anyone who looks to the One True Gods Word as their foundation for discernment. Like prophecies, people who seek Him will be able to observe them and clearly understand them as something of God. If believers know Gods word and see them, they may be encouraged. If unbelievers see them and seek wisdom from the One True God in His Word, they may be drawn to Him and be given Salvation. Signs from God are a Witness, and to cause confusion around them is to diminish that Witness. The enemy knows that this is a powerful and effective area to twist.

So it is a very important issue that we are speaking about. Perhaps much, much more important than most of us know. The Word of God has very stern warnings to those who would add to His Word and seek other ways of wisdom other than seeking Him. He is a Jealous God. If you are unclear as to what God has told us in His Word then seek Him and search the Scriptures as we are instructed to do. Fear God on this issue. Do not claim to know what you do not. Do not dabble and play. Something is going on right now that is very serious. This is to test you.

One of the issues with placing Gods word with heavenly omens that omens are subjective and unclear. So you force confusion onto Gods Word. After you do this you then have to find the explainers of these omens because they are not in God’s Word. Here in lies three very dangerous potentials that are both clearly warned about in God’s Word. 1. False prophets and teachers, 2. Self-deception, 3. Spiritual deception. These ungodly influences lead you into dangerous deception that kills, steals and destroys your blessing and growth. And do not Glorify the true God.  This is very clear from Scripture.

We can STUDY Gods Word and gain some understanding as to what Heavenly Signs are. I am sure many have done this and divided the Word correctly and have wisdom to share with others. But unless you seek a teacher who uses Gods Word as his authority you will simply be left to your own devices and influences not of God. Whether you are aware of them or not. I say again to search the Scriptures. Let God be your guide alone. The path is narrow. Beware of spending an hour and finding a few verses then proudly sitting back and saying to yourself … I know … I feel … I am ready to tell others. I say again we are dealing with the Great Witnesses of God and we should tremble to touch them.   Do not be flippant in this. Do not be proud, admit your many doubts, and humble yourself before the Lord.

We are told in Psalm 19. The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands. 2Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge.… Now a deceiver will come along and say look we should read special messages. We can know secrets. But this is astrology and strictly forbidden. Obviously for very good reason.

As part of Creation, in Romans we are told what the knowledge is that they speak. Rom 1. that which is known of God is manifest in them; for God manifested it unto them. 20For the invisible things of him since the creation of the world are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made, even his everlasting power and divinity; that they may be without excuse:

If we instead base our knowledge on popular books sold, that are based in sensationalism you will stand squarely in deception. Scripture warns us not to join with those who fall into a terrible repeating cycle of deceiving and being deceived. 2 (Tim 3.13-14) Now there is some interesting things we can learn from history as to how the ancients Hebrews made pictures of the stars to remind them of Scriptural themes. But these were adulterated in the Babylonian captivity. So much more could be said but there are good and true teachers out there well versed where you can find more about this history if you are interested. It is up to you to ask, seek and knock. Be led by the Holy Spirit. Love the Lord be humble and patient. Whatever you do, do not be flippant about this eclipse. Stand strong in His Word and protection. It matters

We are clearly instructed in the Word to judge any teaching or prophecy by Gods Word. I welcome anyone to judge this message. I welcome anyone to correct it or add to it by the Word of God. I welcome any discussion that is genuine. In Jesus Name.

Matthew 24 is a key passage given to us to increase our understanding of Prophecy and reveals Specific Heavenly Signs to recognise.  The chapter speaks about a special and PARTIUCULAR period of time in which there will be many signs including heavenly signs. Those particular signs mentioned happen at a specific time in the Tribulation … Of course this is not the only place we are taught from scripture on the nature of Gods signs.

Matt 24. 29But immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: 30and then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

Mark 13. 24But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, 25and the stars shall be falling from heaven, and the powers that are in the heavens shall be shaken.

What we see here is that not only are the supernatural signs clearly specified but so is the timing. These signs will communicate something very particular to those who see them and are aware of God’s Word.

In Matt … 29 But immediately after the tribulation of those days … In Marks account … 24 But in those days, after that tribulation,…

Now of course there is much written about this time period throughout Scripture. As always, the more we know about the Scripture as a whole the better we are given to understand the parts that make it up.

So what we see is Specific, Clear, Supernatural. This is the way of Biblical Signs.  These passages in no way say that common eclipses can be somehow put together with other ones in America and when the place names are taken into account God is somehow trying to give us some kind of a message that some people will be able to sense for some reason.  If we move away from Scripture in context we enter into the land of anything goes. This land is where confusion, division, and speculation are considered some sort of blessing. This is the land where Gods perspective is disregarded and self and pagan history is exalted. This is the land where the desire to spiritualize Gods Word is most welcome. It is the land where the clouds do not produce rain and wells have no water. Where the food instead of satisfying, only leaves those who eat it starving. The main diet here is sensationalism. This is a land where the manipulation of man including self is most welcome. This is the land where instead of fearing God they fear they might not read a sign properly. This is a terrible place of futile pursuits and no reward. The ticket in is feeling and emotion being mistaken for Holy Spirit given understanding and wisdom.

Our Witness

Here is a question … what do you think the world thinks when they see the Church showing great superstition about such things as eclipses. Much less when they tag onto it talk of rapture? As usual I might seem to be heavy in what I am saying but we are talking about our witness of the Lord Jesus Christ. What do you think the world is thinking when they hear that those who claim to know the way of Salvation/Good News of Jesus Christ hold such conversations as important?  Even show fear?

I have a few questions of anybody who believes this eclipse is a sign from God for men to read ……. Do you have the Peace of the Holy Spirit or do you have anxiousness and speculation and restless desire to search for speakers to reveal the hidden meaning? Perhaps you have resolved yourself to wait and see what it could possibly mean. If so you are ripe for further deception.

Is your Spirit peaceful and full of joy or not? Are you experiencing confusion? What fruit does your enquiry bear? What is growing as you digest more messaging around this eclipse?

This brings large amounts of believers into ridicule and utter disrepute by the world. Such superstition should never be named among those who would be witnesses for Truth. Along with the fruit of confusion is the fruit of division, not to mention the fruit of distraction!

Where is our Discernment?

Heb 5. But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

In truth how do you evaluate your discernment on this matter? Is it based on the Word of God or the buzz that has been raised? What is this experience of considering this hype establishing in you? Will it mature your discernment in God’s Word and your life? Or will you be looking for this to be a sign and hence search for fulfillment, meanwhile looking for the next sign with growing anticipation and expectation. Such anticipation makes you ripe for manipulation outside the Word of God. Are you able to recognise/see the speculation and sensationalizing that has gripped so many. Do you see how many other unusual messages are piggy backing on this speculation and fear? Is the Lord really showing you a message? Is He showing you something truly Spiritual? Or have you simply found something fascinating? Perhaps you fear missing out on something and if you do I ask you this,.. do you study His Word? 

OR is His message for you to be warned, for much of this is coming and many will chase after it. For that is what I am saying. Have you asked the Lord? Are you listening? Are you patient? Where is your peace?

This is my imperfect discernment. This is not to say of course that very dark things are not growing in the earth because they are! In my observation those dark things in their different forms are purposed around challenging Gods and relationship with His people. Those who seek them might wish they did not. Make no mistake the intention of the enemy is to draw you away from the Word of God and the God of the Word.

Perhaps we should consider – Why do hunger after such events as eclipses or other natural fascinations? Does one tell themselves … I want to be expert in that which is capturing others attention in order to witness to them? If so, is this wise and can we really be expert?

How can we help?

We do well to note any who are deceived by such and try to help them with humility but also severity. If so many are deceived by such things, what will become of them when much more serious deception presents itself! The response of love by the more mature is not to ignore or entertain such possibilities but to correct however needed. Do I sound too harsh? Perhaps to some but these things are too serious to wink at.

I heard a quote I liked recently … Love warns, ignorance cannot and evil will not. We who are able must warn.

Seeing I might sound harsh I think it necessary to point out that such things should neither separate us nor cause us to reduce in love for one another. Even if believers think differently as they invariably do, it is by our love for one another that the world knows we are the disciples of Jesus. (John 13.34-35)

Something dawned on me very powerfully recently. ……. God does not want us to know many things ……. And that is because He wants us to trust. He wants us to walk by faith and not sight. I am coming to see that the people who would desire to know the future through Gods prophecy in detail might actually be completely missing the point of God obfuscating prophecy until the time of His choosing. For those desire and would ask for Gods will in this, I can offer this Scriptural advice... Obey Him, Fear Him and be His friend. John 15.15 …14You are My friends if you do what I command you. 15No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not understand what his master is doing. But I have called you friends, because everything I have learned from My Father I have made known to you.

Ps 25.14 The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.

This is deep but, it is not until we are trustingly comfortable with blindness that we actually begin to see. It is not until He stops our ears that we are able to hear. It is not until we lose the interest in our hearts of the multitude of spectacular things, that we begin to understand them Spiritually.

2 Cor 5.7 for we walk by faith, not by sight.

Heb 11.1 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. All things to the Glory of the Lord alone!!!

Is America in Trouble?

God has clearly spoken to America in His Word.  As He has to all the Gentile Nations. There are many who have been warning for decades. Scripture tell us we can read the signs within the people of the Nation. The perversion and rejection of God’s Word is quite full. Especially the effort to divide Gods land. This is more than enough Scriptural signs to know the danger.

Just look at the madness in America Rom 1.18 -2.11. Just look at the blessing removed and curse applied Deut 28. Scripture tells us these things were written for us to understand. We need no further sign. Those who seek signs outside Gods Word belittle Gods Word! Make no mistake, I know nothing. Were it not for grace none would survive. Especially me.  Much less would any be given eternal life and relationship, without Him showering His mercy and grace.

Those who will not read Gods word will not read the signs. They will be caught out.

What must we do?

We must love God and Jesus told us how…

John 14.23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my word: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

We must cleave to God and that means His Word. This has always been our need!

Deu 11:22 For if ye shall diligently keep all these commandments which I command you, to do them, to love the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, and to cleave unto him;

When it comes to mixing our devotion to God with strange fire such reading eclipses we have a very sobering Word from God. When we think we can add something to our relationship other than hearing and doing His word, it cannot happen without a cost. He desires our whole heart. No exceptions. I would invite you to meditate on this verse before the Lord if you so desire…

Matt 6.24 …23But if your eyes are bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness! 24No one can serve two masters: Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

May our house be built on the Rock.

Tit 1:9 Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.
