My Temple

Updated: Sep 22, 2022

Jesus Christ brought about the Temple with his Death, Burial & Resurrection to enable believers in him to House the Holy Spirit in their bodies.

What was important in the Old Testament is that Jesus Christ fulfilled the writings of King David & King Solomon in the New Testament.

The Lord speaks to King David about his legacy.

[1Ki 8:18 KJV] 18 And the LORD said unto David my father, Whereas it was in thine heart to build an house unto my name, thou didst well that it was in thine heart.

[1Ki 8:19 KJV] 19 Nevertheless thou shalt not build the house; but thy son that shall come forth out of thy loins, he shall build the house unto my name.

Likewise , that Solomon being from his Father David ,built the temple for the Lord.

[2Ch 6:8 KJV] 8 But the LORD said to David my father, Forasmuch as it was in thine heart to build an house for my name, thou didst well in that it was in thine heart:

[2Ch 6:9 KJV] 9 Notwithstanding thou shalt not build the house; but thy son which shall come forth out of thy loins, he shall build the house for my name.

Jesus explains the Temple.

[John 2:19 NKJV] Jesus answered and said to them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”

[John 2:20 NKJV] Then the Jews said, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and will You raise it up in three days?”

[John 2:21 NKJV] But He was speaking of the temple of His body.

[John 10:23 NKJV] And Jesus walked in the temple, in Solomon’s porch.

[1 Corinthians 3:16 NKJV] Do you not know that you are the temple of God and [that] the Spirit of God dwells in you?

[1 Corinthians 3:17 NKJV] If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which [temple] you are.

[1 Corinthians 6:19 NKJV] Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit [who is] in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?
