When we discuss the Word , there are some foundations we should be aware of.
Maintaining our "edge" is a twofold path.
[Proverbs 27:17 KJV] Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.
sharpeneth = ḥāḏaḏ = to be sharp, be alert, be keen
If edges collide they will gouge each other......
To Alert one another resonates with me.
But something else I have discovered by looking into how swords are sharpened.
Even though "iron honing iron" is great for maintenance, true sharpening comes from a "stone"
If honing is done correctly you will prolong its edge.
In ancient times, metal scraping tools were usually the most consistent and effective options for shaping something as thin as a cutting edge.
You can use a sharpening/honing steel on any regular bevelled blade to prolong the cutting experience in between regular resharpening on a stone.
To prolong the cutting experience "between" use of the blade/sword it is recommended to regularly resharpen on a "stone"
Who is the "Stone the builders rejected?"
[Matthew 21:42 KJV] Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?
Hone your understanding with Brethren
But most of all:
Maintain your faith with the Stone !
Jesus Christ 🙏♥️
John 14:6 KJV — Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
