Matthew 5:7 KJV — Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
To have mercy on the afflicted is a core belief of our Faith. All of us have been & are going through troubles that are out of our control.
This must happen. Without the affliction there is no way the prideful nature of ourselves can be stripped back.
Without the affliction there can be no mercy that we can show to one another - it is compassion.
Jesus showed many instances of Mercy, one in particular was Bartimaeus who received his sight after calling on Jesus for mercy (Mark 10:46-52)
"by Faith he called for Jesus , by Mercy Jesus delivered his sight."
A compassionate, merciful God could only do this for sinners like us.
The Good Samaritan ( Luke 10:30-37) was also merciful to a man who had been stripped & robbed , & left for dead on the side of the road.
The priest , the Levite had passed by him & ignored his plight.
The Good Samaritan (which the the Jews despised of the City of Samaria) stopped & had compassion on him, dressed his wounds , & found an Inn where he could rest & recover.
Yeshua's teaching on The Good Samaritan reflects what this Beatitude is about.
Luke 10:36 KJV — Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?
Luke 10:37 KJV — And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.
"If you sow Mercy you will reap Mercy."
Make this a daily thought, on our Journey to be like Christ Jesus 🙏❤️
