I were faced with a question.
Why does God never help amputees?
What came to mind was the journey of Job.
Job faced much loss of family & wealth as a devout follower of the Lord.
Job was in much physical & emotional pain by what had happened to him.
Job questioned God.
[Job 31:4 KJV] Doth not he see my ways, and count all my steps?
After Jobs friends were counseling him on why he had suffered (saying he had done much wrong in the eyes of the Lord)
The Lord spoke up about all of them.
[Job 38:1 KJV] Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,
[Job 38:2 KJV] Who [is] this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge?
The Lord declared that which was spoken by Eliphaz, Bildad & Zophar was folly.
The Lord then declares his Creation before Job & asks him to respond. ( Job 38-41)
[Job 38:3 KJV] Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me.
[Job 38:4 KJV] Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding.
[Job 38:5 KJV] Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it?
[Job 38:18 KJV] Hast thou perceived the breadth of the earth? declare if thou knowest it all.
[Job 38:25 KJV] Who hath divided a watercourse for the overflowing of waters, or a way for the lightning of thunder;
[Job 38:31 KJV] Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion?
The Lord , spoke to Job & counseled him , "Did you create all Heaven & Earth?" (paraphrasing)
(Job 38-41)
Job was still righteous in the Lord's eyes, he had suffered much loss , & pain but never once did he lose his faith in God.
He pleaded , he spoke , he implored , he submitted, he worshiped the Lord but never gave in to the captivity of Satan.
Even Jobs friends who rebuked him for doing wrong in the eyes of the Lord, were abased.
The Lord told them to repent, for their folly.
[Job 42:7 KJV] And it was [so], that after the LORD had spoken these words unto Job, the LORD said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against thee, and against thy two friends: for ye have not spoken of me [the thing that is] right, as my servant Job [hath].
The Lord removed Job's captivity when he prayed for his friends, even though he was in a terrible state himself.
[Job 42:10 KJV] And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.
[Job 42:11 KJV] Then came there unto him all his brethren, and all his sisters, and all they that had been of his acquaintance before, and did eat bread with him in his house: and they bemoaned him, and comforted him over all the evil that the LORD had brought upon him: every man also gave him a piece of money, and every one an earring of gold.
[Job 42:12 KJV] So the LORD blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: for he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she asses.
As the Lord spoke to Isaiah the prophet also.......
[Isaiah 55:8 KJV] For my thoughts [are] not your thoughts, neither [are] your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
[Isaiah 55:9 KJV] For [as] the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
Jesus Christ of Nazareth the only begotten Son of God said:
[Matthew 5:45 KJV] That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
May we all cleave to Jesus Christ during our times of Good & Bad 🙏❤️
Thank you Brother Steve. There is rich wisdom to glean from the story of Job. May we remember who we serve …and through it all, with a thankful heart, continue to pray for those who suffer and for the souls of men.
Yes, Job enduring quite a bit, but was richly blessed.
